Cannes has just wrapped up and I have indulged (yet again) in a virtual fashion feast. While there were some obvious hits, there were some that were hits that I believe you missed. Why? Because people are biased. And, I’m not. Mostly not. Okay sometimes… zip it ODD-CAT!
Before we dive into some of my fav looks from Cannes, let me tell you, there were some fiery reds and RED is what you must include in your wardrobe staple list. Maybe, I should do wardrobe staples soon. Ok, later on that. Now scroll below from Cannes Cans!
G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S! I can’t emphasize enough on how Ah-Mazing she looked in this red Roberto Cavalli that was amplified with the simplicity of the hair, make-up & accessories. Simple, Strong, Sexy!
2.Aja Naomi King
There’s something about dusky skin and pastel colors that oozes oomph like no other. Naomi in this Zac Posen was an absolute delight. Sleek bun, classy jewels and showing décolletage without showing too much. Know what I mean? Love this look.
This Indian beauty has quite a few “stop and stare” looks but wowed me the most was her look in Dundas. Ivory gown with a BIG BLACK BOW, sleek ponytail, shimmer jewels and bold eyes! Less is more they say but when More is More (done right), it is nothing but TOP-NOTCH and goes down in history kind of a look. Yup. You heard that right.
Doing mirror and shimmer, jumpsuit and train…. Hello Glam Girl! You have nailed it in Rami Kadi. This is something I will wear in a heartbeat.
H.E.R look is not about what clothes she is wearing. It’s more about the attitude she is wearing. And if you know fashion well, you’ll most certainly know that 99% of the times (actually 100%) is about how you’re working a look, than just wearing a look. Having said that, not taking away credit for working the heck out of Giambattista Valli x H&M gown. Round sunglasses, accessorized center-parting and “go bold or go home” curly locks were totally drool-worthy.
If you’re bringing vintage to red-carpet, it better be impactful. And that’s exactly what Elle Fanning brought to Cannes. Her macramé hat was a “genius” addition to the Agent Provocateur shirt and Dior tulle skirt. The blonde wavy bob, red lips. Kiss! Kiss!
Coco Chanel’s famous quote: “A girl should be two things- classy & fabulous” is what Zhang Ziyi is channeling in this Givenchy Haute Couture. Every bit delicate, she has epitomized “classic” & “beauty” here.
Bringing beach to red-carpet with elegance. This Richard Quinn column dress with tulle train is not for your average taste. Again, attitude is key here and that’s what we get aplenty with Winnie. You go girl!
So this was my “short & sweet” round up of Cannes 2019. TBH, I did have a few more favs but they were Cannes Cannes per say. I love them and will perhaps include them in another fashion post. Okay bye! This has been hard to write with kids monkeying around in the background.
Au Revoir! À bientôt!
