Okay, so this is
the last post on “not so famous any more” Lakmé Fashion Week. Like any ODI (One
Day Internationals- Cricket lingo, duh!), there were massive hits and massive
blips! Now, let’s not dig into what didn’t work or excite us. Because if it
didn’t excite us, why even talk about it. Right?
Let me start with my biggest #crush from the #lfw- Kanika Goyal! I loved every single piece from the collection. I’m ready to buy her menswear collection too. Miss Goyal, you totally fall in my #crushyou category. Take a look!
And, this was NOT the end of Fashion Week. I did love some pieces here and there from a few others but I would like to give credit to the designer-duo Shivan & Narresh for their styling. Clothes, didn’t blow me away as much as did the styling! Talking about styling sensibilities, I urge the men out there to check out Raghavendra Rathore & Ajay Kumar (for men, of course)! And who else did you dig at LFW? I did like SVA this around. Also, Bobo Calcutta prints are so colourful & kinda life-popping! Keep scrolling for more candies & dandies from #lfw2019.
Fashion Weeks were
quite the talk of the town (depending on how fashion-savvy you are) but to be
honest, I haven’t given full fledged reviews on every single show that happened
unless it really blew my mind. Day 2 of LFW Summer Resort ’19 had Varun Bahl
unveiling his pret line. But, it didn’t excite me one bit. One designer that
got me sit up and notice was Aza Kazingmei who did this whole Grunge/ Goth vibe
with his collection and how striking it was! Leather, denim, graffiti prints,
the works! Take a look.
PS: My husband is into the leather business so obviously special mention and liking for this particular designer fellow!
Lakme fashion week
witnessed a GRAND opening (thanks to the aerial theatrics) at the Royal Opera
House! Poetess Navkirat Sodhi unfolded Gaurav Gupta’s “ THE (UN)FOLDING”
collection with prose that spoke of “Killing pain with couture”. How befitting
for most fashionistas, no?!
PS: Not sure if
you have seen JLO’s performance in American Idol 2015. Please do watch because
this performance at LFW Summer Resort ’19 seemed very dejà vu [ouch! shouldn’t
be stating references ;)]
His women’s collection was grand and glam with his signature elements claiming force (big ruffles et al) . But what I liked more was his menswear with edginess & embellishments that are served in right quantities. I would like to re-post a couple of his pics on the blog here along with a few pieces from lesser-known designers (Mohammed Mazhar, Kunal Rawal to name a few) who have showcased some interesting stuff! Ready, Set, Scroll!
